Our Beliefs

Technically Trinity Free Church is a united Congregational and Baptist Church although it has never had a Congregational minister. It has been a member of the Baptist Union for many years. The generalities of what we believe can be found from www.baptist.org.uk

For ease of reference here are some of the key beliefs:

  • We believe that Jesus is Lord over all
  • We believe in the authority of the Bible
  • We believe in baptising believers and celebrating the gift of children by a special service of dedication
  • We believe that a Church is not a building but a group of believers who gather together for worship and sharing and who are then sent out to serve God within the community
  • We believe that all people are called equally by God and that there is no function more important than any other. Some are set apart for full time service but we are all ‘ministers’ of his grace
  • We believe that our Church is just a small part of a great global family. We are strongly ecumenical and rejoice in being part of ‘Churches Together’
  • We believe in the importance of sharing our faith in a relevant and non confrontational manner
